I liked this article. It's pretty clear after reading it that Obama is shallow, McCain is shallow, and Manzi too. Polarized Shallowness, that's what I'd call it.
On one side you have "Let's change the world by joining a Political party and join a Social Program."
On the other, "The heck with that. Things are just fine. Or, they would be, if you guys would just shut up and let our Companies make their profits (never mind how) and sell, sell, sell so that "the people" can buy, buy, buy."

What's that Solzhenitsyn said at his Harvard Address in 1978? Shallowness and Impatience are the Psychic Diseases of our Age.

I was going to say something to the effect that many, perhaps even hundreds of thousands, if not millions (in Europe and America) of poor Whites, particularly males, have been passed over, ignored, or fed to the lions for the benefit of someone like Obama. But then I remembered another comment from Solzhenitsyns Address where, with out mentioning Race he said pretty much the same thing. That there were many decent, intelligent people who wanted to do something for their country, but that those in power simply were not interested in them.

You know why our Founding Fathers are demonized by the PC Power Elite? Because the real legacy of the Founding Fathers is that they served as a collective of individuals, a Force, a Power of Example to those of us ready, willing and able to fight back!

Gee, I find myself agreeing with John Zmirak this week (about the Lukacs review), and now Jim Manzi too. The comments section over at TAS is pretty disgusting, with lots of Obama-lovers trying to suggest that anyone who denies their utopia lacks all public-spiritedness. I suppose that's what we're up against in the Obamination, folks.

"...it would not have created awe-inspiring collective achievements like getting to the moon, and the vast majority of poor households in America would not have already have TVs, cars and air conditioning."

But that's just it, you see. According to his comments, Obama doesn't think we ought to be using our AC's, driving our cars, and eating as much as we'd like. Those things are for our betters, for the vanguard--we footsoldiers need to just toughen up and tighten our belts a bit. He wants us to be frugal social activists forever taking one for the team, whether it's with our time, our diet, our desire for children, or any other good we might have in life. He's the candidate of "change," alright.
