We need to consider replacing NATO with something else. I believe that it’s mission was completed when the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact fell apart.

The above said; the US, EU (and NATO) made terrible mistakes in the conduction of and the results of the fiasco in Kosovo. (We can’t very well object when Russia does the same thing in Georgia).

Perhaps it is time to start treating Russia as an equal partner in world stability.
Given, that we face similar problems and culturally are similar (as in the sense of
sharing a Christian background–which has been revived in Russia).
