I figured I’d change the blog a bit. The old “theme” actually was a little hard to read at times, particularly as it italicized block quotes. I’ve also noticed that this theme is more popular on super right wing blogs like Occidental Dissent or Guy White. I also changed the header image; Death of Marat is a great painting, but this version of the Rape of the Sabine Women seems to capture some of the chaos of our times and what it is I mean to speak clearly against.
I am also considering changing the subtitle. While I am probably closest to the paleoconservatives and decidedly against the neoconservatives, there is some baggage with that term that I don’t like, not least the occasional flirtation with anti-Americanism and pacifism you see here and there. I’m open to suggestions. I thought perhaps Nationalist Observations or Nationalist Conservatism or something like that, but it has a tinny and unnatural sound, so I’m all ears readers.
I hope these changes are welcome and make the blog easier to read.

My suggestion is not to use the word “nationalist”. It means all sorts of different things to different people. To some it’s good and to others it’s evil, depending not only on the person’s politics but on his own personal definition of the word as well. Same with “conservative” and even “right”.
But “nationalist” is poison. Even the “correct” meanings are multiple: loyalty to my nation? a state for my nation? a state for every nation? And that’s without even getting started on what a nation is, much less your own nation. “Nationalist” just prejudices a lot of potential readers against you for no reason at all, unless you want to be provocative and fight for your favorite meaning of that word.
The “paleoconservative” label no longer seems to fit your blog, any more than it fits Pat Buchanan. Maybe some title on the theme of Middle America?
I like this WP theme it is clean and works well and your header image looks great. Personally I like the subtitle and I suggest that you stick with it for a while it may grow on you and your readers

What about using “Classical Liberalism” in your heading? I always thought Goldwater, Reagan conservatives, as opposed to neo conservatives, were all about preserving the traditional, classical liberalism of our founders.
Paleo-patriotism?
I’m not suggesting that this is right for you, but a term I have used recently is “bioconservative” to distinguish myself from “conservatives” who cannot or will not acknowledge that the most important thing to be conserved is one’s own people. It’s a new term that does not yet mean “all sorts of different things to different people”.
