The idea that this never-elected liberal would be our VP pick is so incredibly absurd that, if it comes to pass, I will forever renounce my Republican Party affiliation. Not only was she one of the chief architects of the ill-fated democracy-building foreign policy in response to 9/11, but she, as much or more than anyone else in the Bush White House, constantly trashed America and made moral equivalencies of our Founders and the backwards theocratic savages in charge of Iraq and Afghanistan. She is too alienated and too small of a person to be President, let alone to represent the Republican point of view. Finally, picking her would show that Romney thoroughly buys into the Bush approach of trying to appease unappeasable liberals and minorities who show no signs of trending Republican, and, further, that he thinks it’s more important to show his non-racist good will rather than his neutral good judgment and conviction. McCain did this too during his campaign, refusing to pile on Obama’s kooky church and curious and unexplored background, and it cost him an election.
I wrote a bunch on this subject when it was more fresh in my mind when she briefly appeared on McCain’s short list. Nonetheless, this would show that Romney learned all the wrong lessons of the last ten years and is not qualified to be president. What a terrible dilemma considering the necessity of expelling Obama.
