I couldn’t possibly be more bored than I am with this year’s political season. It just seems like dueling generalities. On one side, we have a businessman without much in the way of exciting or bold or original ideas. On the other, a charlatan who is asking to be reelected as if the last four mediocre and at times disastrous years had never happened. And the rhetoric on all sides is as flat, uninteresting, and dull as the age we live in.
