Scalia pretty much said it all in his dissent regarding the gay marriage decision. What is maddening is how obviously dishonest the Court’s entire range of activity is. The Court supposedly would not dare tread on the three or four year old Obamacare law by engaging in a simple task of statutory interpretation out of concern for its legitimacy and judicial restraint, but it has boldly overriden the decisions of multiple public referenda and state legislatures to preserve and define an institution–two person heterosexual marriage–that has been around 10,000 years or more. It should be plain how the Court’s results-orientation, feeble reasoning, and hostile leftist clique (made up of various disaffected ethnic and religious minorities) shows no respect for the majority and its decisions.
This is not our country, nor our government, anymore. The last vestiges of self government are declining precipitously, and we owe this system and these rulers no loyalty, no deference, and no respect. It’s the enemy of our way of life and the enemy of the historical American people. It is a tool of a hostile, often foreign, and completely unrepresentative elite. And their campaign against normalcy is accelerating. Yes, the Constitution deserves respect, as it sets up a well thought out system of checks and balances. But that Constitution no longer governs our government. It is an historical artifact that has no real relation to how business is done. Even if a Republican somehow wins, it hardly matters. They are constrained by the same hostile media-corporate-post-national elite and its prejudices.
As for the merits of gay marriage and gay adoption and gay civil rights, and all of the rest of this agenda, ask yourself why the national media that made a pariah of George Zimmerman never sees fit to mention stories like this or this or this. It should be obvious that the media is little more than a destructive propaganda machine that emphasizes the hell out of some stories, while it downplays others, all in the service of that same media-corporate-government elite’s worldview.
