Some people have concealed carry permits and rationalize not carrying certain times because, after all, why should one be worried at a prayer meeting, office Christmas party, or movie theater? The gun in your night stand or glove box won’t help you. You can’t protect yourself and others effectively unless it’s on your person when you need it.
We live in dangerous times with threats from domestic loonies and Islamic terrorists. Just like a seat belt only gets the job done of preventing injury and death in the low probability event of an accident by wearing it all the time, the same low probability of needing a gun at any given moment does not mean you’ll never it, and you cannot know in advance when that will be. You should make sure your last thought in life is not, “I wish I hadn’t left my gun at home.”
